Celebrated researcher and artist Michael V. Smith brings his new show ‘Soundtrack: a karaoke + poetry party", marrying a unique performance of karaoke songs with spoken word. Soundtrack is a cross-Canada tour to launch Smith’s new lyric memoir by the same name.

Join Michael V. Smith with an array of fabulous Ottawa musical guests, including Ari Agha, Caligula, and Omari B. Johnson with a few other ChromaQueer surprises revealed, to move and delight you.  

But there is more to celebrate! Smith’s new memoir Soundtrack examines what it was like to grow up and come out as queer at the end of the millenium under the shadow of AIDS. This 2025 year also marks the thirtieth anniversary of AZT, the antiretroviral drug that changed the face of HIV treatment, saving hundreds of thousands of lives. Soundtrack is a timely show and a sexy, honest and moving collection of poems, honouring a milestone in medical and queer history. Come hear these poems and sing along to unforgettable queer anthems from the 80's and 90's.
